Writer's Diary

An extreme sense of scarcity about time. My theory is that inflation, coupled with the total dominance of screens, has created a feeling that every unused second is trouble. The work you do an X number of hours is worth less than it was a few years ago. And so you have to work an extra hour or two, besides your phone or your iPad or your laptop. It can make it very hard to stop working. Your boss, your project, never seem to sleep.
