First came ribosomes, then came organisms, and then came AI.

Chemical information, biological information, artificial information.

There's also chemical life, biological life, silicon life; CI,BI, AI.

We might just say that life is that which can be assembled.

We might say that the universe is a giant assembly machine, turning dead things into living things.¹
