Writer's Diary

Humans do politics because politics are human. All you need for politics is two people who don’t know how to assign control amongst themselves—or 3 or 4 or so on. It could be a relationship, a collaboration, a business, a family: there’s politics everywhere. 1
The question of control is also existential: do I have a duty2 to exercise it when I’m the best suited to? Can I ever know? Is control always sort of an illusion (Zen)? Are duty and control really any different (the Marines)? 3
Neurosis is an impulsive reaction to one's impulses. A constant staccato, impulsive distrust of the surges, the emotions, the half-articulated thoughts, a sense of riding shotgun with another part of oneself in the driver’s seat.
