Why should philosophy be separate from biography if philosophy is to be lived? For that matter, why should the dramatic monologue be separate from the essay, or poetry from fiction? Formal boundaries are less important than what’s inside the boundary. Thought is most interesting when it’s most germinal—when it’s undifferentiated.
