Writer's Diary
10/22/24
It's better to be risk-averse than to be out of control. But if you're risk-averse, you're only going to be as good as your circumstances in life. You can't climb anywhere. You can't go anywhere. You're afraid, and you're going to stay where you are.
Your risk-takers are going to be ruined in the long run. The odds are against them. That's tragic. So calculate risk. It's the only really rational way to proceed through life.
Calculated risks are your values.
You can spend the money you're saving for rent on heroin. You can spend it on a Tinder subscription. You can spend it on taking a friend to dinner. You can spend it on a classical music ticket.
