It's frustrating to have to begin somewhere all the time. To have to rebuild the soul… like a piece of paper that you crumbled up. Like old homework that you crumbled up in your book bag and forgot about and had to take out and smooth out before turning it in…

We make the forms of the things around us visible by perceiving them. Our perception—how we perceive—is a tangible link in the chain of becoming. And so how we perceive someone is in part a spiritual act because we account for their transition into reality.

And in this sense, loving and perceiving are one and the same. Love is a recognition of the perception, built into the perception itself.

Like a skeletal rune buried underneath the sediment, I can dig it out and reveal it—love.
