Writer's Diary

A pragmatist doesn’t carry Occam’s razor.
In 2024, both tech community and new age religionists have arrived right back at Descartes: either reason can guide us to truth or we’re under a control demonic simulation or hallucination.
The more I think about it, the scientistic framework which undergirds our civilization deprives us of too many ways of experiencing reality. We’re lack divinities and divinity; we’re undernourished; we lack practical reasons to look towards the sky or to plant our feat on the ground. Scientism means the individual no longer goes through an adventure on the planet and in the cosmos. Also—we can’t be sure that God, angels, demons, fairies, Pan don’t exist (this is the argument that Andre makes in My Dinner with Andre by the way). Maybe we need to believe to discover and see. Maybe.
My world does not exist without me; but this doesn’t mean it’s the world.
A paradigm is a contract with reality.
