Packing up and closing a chapter of my life last night; a glass of wine after with friends and that’s about that; on a train now upstate; E has lost her phone somewhere in the apartment and after 36 hours of searching, nothing—so ‘travel’ without a smartphone like it’s 2007. Perhaps ideal.
Thinking about how social media amplifies triumphs and failures, hatreds and devotions; in reality, much of us are more alike than we are conditioned to believe—
I find there is great sweetness in devotion.
